Official Rules

Arcjet Security Challenge Contest (the "Contest") starts on July 29, 2024, at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time and ends on August 11, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time ("Contest Period").

ELIGIBILITY:

Contest is open to natural persons ages 18 and older. Employees of Arcjet Labs, Inc. ("Sponsor") and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, promotion and advertising agencies, and members of their immediate families (spouse and parent, children and siblings and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and persons living in the same household, whether or not related, of such employees, are not eligible to enter or win. Void in Iran, Cuba, Syria, North Korea, or the Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions of occupied Ukraine, and where prohibited by law. Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws.

HOW TO ENTER:

To enter the contest, entrants must follow all instructions on https://challenge.arcjet.com ("Challenge Site"). Social media posts made during the Contest Period meeting all of the criteria on the Challenge Site and requirements in these Rules will be considered eligible "Entries." All Entries must be received by August 11, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time to be considered. Limit one (1) Entry per person and per household. Entries received from any person or household in excess of the limitation will be void. For the avoidance of doubt, Entries by the same person on multiple sites (e.g., LinkedIn, Twitter) will yield only one (1) entry.

REQUIREMENTS OF ENTRIES:

Entry (i) must be entrant's own original work, (ii) must be in English, (iii) cannot be previously published or submitted in connection with any other contest, (iv) must be in keeping with the Sponsor's image and (v) must not be offensive or inappropriate, as determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion, nor can it defame or invade copyrights, publicity rights or privacy of any person, living or deceased, or otherwise infringe upon any person's personal or property rights or any other third party rights. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any Entry that it determines, in its sole discretion, is offensive or inappropriate, not in keeping with Sponsor's image or that is otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules.

By submitting an Entry, entrant acknowledges and agrees that Sponsor may obtain many Entries in connection with this Contest or other contests staged or promoted by the Sponsor, and that such Entries may be similar or identical in theme, idea, format or other respects to other Entries submitted in connection with this Contest or other contests sponsored by the Sponsor or submitted for other reasons or other materials developed by the Sponsor. Entrant waives any and all claims entrant may have had, may have, or may have in the future, that any Entry or other works accepted, reviewed or used by the entrant may be similar to his/her Entry, or that any compensation is due to entrant in connection with such Entry or other works used by Sponsor.

By submitting an Entry, entrant hereby grants permission for the Entry to be posted on https://challenge.arcjet.com or other websites and to be circulated and used in other digital media as Sponsor may determine. Entrant agrees that Released Parties (as defined below) are not responsible for any unauthorized use of Entries by third parties. Released Parties do not guarantee the posting or use of any Entry. Entrants agree that they will not use the Entry for any purpose other than submission to this contest without the express consent of Sponsor in each instance.

JUDGING:

Grand Prizes: All eligible Entries received by Sponsor will be judged by a sole Judge from the Arcjet team based on the following criteria: Creativity 75%; Elegance 25%. The top three (3) Entries with the highest scores will be deemed the potential Grand Prize winners. Runner-Up Prizes: The next two (2) Entries with the highest scores will be deemed the potential Runner-Up Prize winners. Sponsor reserves the right not to award all prizes or to choose fewer than five (5) winners if, in its sole discretion, it does not receive a sufficient number of eligible and qualified Entries. Entry Prizes: The first fifty (50) entrants to submit Entries on any platform will be deemed potential Entry Prize winners. Sponsor reserves the right not to award all prizes or to choose fewer than fifty (50) finalists if, in its sole discretion, it does not receive a sufficient number of eligible and qualified Entries. Sponsor's computer will serve as the official time keeping device for the Contest. Prize awards are subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules.

WINNER NOTIFICATION:

Judge's and Sponsor's decisions are final and binding on all matters relating to this Contest. Potential winners will be notified by social media and may be required to complete an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability and Publicity Release (unless prohibited by law) and any other documents required by Sponsor, which must be returned within three (3) days of date appearing on prize notification. Return of prize or prize notification as undeliverable, failure to sign and return requested documentation within the specified time period, the inability of Sponsor to contact a potential winner within a reasonable time period or noncompliance with these Official Rules by any potential winner will result in disqualification and, at Sponsor's sole discretion, the prize may be awarded to an alternate winner. In the case of Grand Prizes, the alternate winner will be the next highest scoring eligible Entry, which may include elevating a Runner-Up Prize winner. If a Runner-Up Prize winner is elevated, their Runner-Up Prize will be awarded to the next highest scoring eligible Entry. Sponsor will make two (2) attempts to award each prize. If Sponsor is unable to determine and verify a winner after two (2) attempts, the applicable prize may remain unawarded.

PRIZES:

Three (3) Grand Prizes: $250 Permit.io coupon, 1-hour Solutions Architecture Workshop with Permit,io, 1-year coding assistant subscription to Sourcegraph Cody or GitHub Copilot, 6-month ngrok Pro license, Arcjet Swag Bag. Approximate Retail Value ("ARV") is $880 to $910 each, depending on choice of coding assistant subscription. Two (2) Runner-Up Prizes: 1-year coding assistant subscription to Sourcegraph Cody or GitHub Copilot, 6-month ngrok Pro license, Arcjet Swag Bag. Approximate Retail Value ("ARV") is $270 to $300 each, depending on choice of coding assistant subscription. Fifty (50) Entry Prizes: $50 Permit.io coupon, €10 Vonage coupon, 1-month coding assistant subscription to Sourcegraph Cody, Arcjet Sticker Pack stickers. ARV is $74.40 each. Total ARV of all prizes: $6900.00 to $7050.00, depending on winners' choice of coding assistant subscription. Prizes are awarded "as is" with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied by Sponsor. Winners may not substitute, assign or transfer prizes or redeem prizes for cash, but Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to substitute prizes (or portion thereof) with one of comparable or greater value. Winners are responsible for all applicable federal, state and local taxes, if any, as well as any other costs and expenses associated with prize acceptance and use not specified herein as being provided. All prize details are at Sponsor's sole discretion. The possibility of winning depends on the degree to which the Entry satisfies the stated criteria and on the number of Entries submitted.

GENERAL CONDITIONS:

By participating, each entrant agrees: (a) to abide by these Official Rules and decisions of Sponsor and judge, which shall be final and binding in all respects relating to this Contest; (b) to release, discharge and hold harmless Sponsor, and their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, and advertising and promotion agencies, and the respective officers, directors, shareholders, employees, agents and representatives of the forgoing (collectively, "Released Parties") from any and all injuries, liability, losses and damages of any kind to persons, including death, or property resulting, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from entrant's participation in the Contest or any Contest-related activity or the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any awarded prize; and (c) to the use of his/her name, voice, performance, photograph/video, image and likeness for programming, advertising, publicity and promotional purposes in any and all media (including digital media), now or hereafter known, worldwide and in perpetuity by Sponsor and its designees, without compensation (unless prohibited by law) or additional consents from entrant or any third party and without prior notice, approval or inspection, and to execute specific consent to such use if asked to do so. By participating, entrants also agree not to release any publicity or other materials on their own or through someone else regarding their participation in the Contest without the prior consent of the Sponsor, which it may withhold in its sole discretion. By participating, each Entrant agrees that, if awarded a prize, Sponsor is authorized to provide Entrant's information with third parties to the extent required to award the prize.

OWNERSHIP/USE OF ENTRIES:

By submitting an Entry, each entrant agrees Sponsor shall license the Entry submitted (including the copyright thereto and all rights embodied therein) and that it and its designees may exploit, edit, modify, and distribute the Entry and all elements of such Entry, including, without limitation, the names and likenesses of any persons or locations embodied therein, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, worldwide, in perpetuity without compensation, permission or notification to entrant or any third party.

MISCELLANEOUS:

Released Parties are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, damaged, inaccurate, stolen, delayed, misdirected, undelivered, or garbled Entries; or for lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), website, or other connections, availability or accessibility or miscommunications or failed computer, satellite, telephone or cable transmissions, lines, or technical failure or jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions or computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties, or other errors or difficulties of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic, computer, network, typographical, printing or otherwise relating to or in connection with the Contest, including, without limitation, errors or difficulties which may occur in connection with the administration of the Contest, the processing or judging of Entries, the announcement of the prizes, or the incorrect uploading of any Contest-related materials. Released Parties are also not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by other entrants or site users, tampering, hacking, or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest. Released Parties are not responsible for injury or damage to any person's computer related to or resulting from participating in this Contest or downloading materials from or use of the website. Persons who tamper with or abuse any aspect of the Contest or website, who act in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner or who are in violation of these Official Rules, as solely determined by Sponsor, will be disqualified and all associated Entries will be void. Should any portion of the Contest be, in Sponsor's sole opinion, compromised by virus, worms, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or other causes which, in the sole opinion of the Sponsor, corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play, or submission of Entries, Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to suspend, modify or terminate the Contest and, if terminated, at its discretion, select the potential winners from all eligible, non-suspect Entries received prior to action taken using the judging procedure outlined above. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DAMAGE THE WEBSITE OR TO UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES AND OTHER REMEDIES (INCLUDING ATTORNEYS' FEES) FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.

A list of winners will be available online at https://challenge.arcjet.com by August 19, 2024, and for six (6) months thereafter.
